My name is Devine Drakes, and I am a licensed social worker. I graduated from Erikson Institute with my master’s in social work with a concentration in children, adults, and adolescents. I enjoy serving and supporting the youth because they are the upcoming new leaders. While working with this population, my goal is to demonstrate to the youth that authority figures hear them and understand their struggles while being teenagers in today’s world.

I strive to build strong therapeutic relationships with my clients. This creates a sense of safety and allows clients to build trust with their therapist. I utilize the approaches of CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and narrative therapy. I have experience working with clients who have difficulties with anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. As a licensed social worker, I enjoy helping clients identify their triggers and find healthy coping strategies to overcome obstacles. My goal as a therapist is to be the passenger driver and allow my clients to be the driver because they are in control of their life and their treatment.
